Description

  • Visit the famous ashlar quarries in the city of Arequipa within a 4-hour (half-day) all-inclusive tour. The tour starts in two shifts: in the morning (8.30 am) or in the afternoon (2 pm). Both schedules allow you to visit the ashlar quarries (volcanic stone) formed in the city as a result of the eruptions in past centuries. First you will visit the popular Culebrillas ravine, a quarry that still shows petroglyphs. Quarries that continue to be exploited by the people of Arequipa to this day will also be visited. As a sample of this art, we will visit the colonial church of the Company of Jesus in the center of Arequipa. The tour includes everything you need such as: pick up, transportation, professional guide, tickets and more.

This is the experience

  • The tour begins with the pick up of the tourist from the door of his hotel in the historic center of the city of Arequipa. Then, all aboard a large tourist transport, we will tour the ‘white city’ towards the ashlar quarries formed thousands of years ago as a result of volcanic eruptions. Tourists will observe how this white stone is worked in the construction of monuments, churches and houses. You will visit the famous Culebrillas ravine, always in the company of a professional tour guide. At the end we will return to Arequipa to visit the church of the Company of Jesus and its façade made of ashlar. The tour includes everything: pick up from the hotel, professional guide, tourist transport, entrance fees and more.
