The route is surrounded by wonderful landscapes and always with the company of a professional tour guide. On the route you will appreciate a waterfall whose water fall is 60 meters on average. The first lagoon is at an altitude of 3,700 meters. Then the ascent continues to the second lagoon, at 3,800 meters above sea level, and so on, until reaching the fifth lagoon at 3,920 meters above sea level. On the way there is an offering ceremony to the Pachamama (mother earth), as well as a box lunch. Of course you will get beautiful pictures of the high snowy peaks and mountains of Huanuco. Itinerary

Pichgacocha is a Quechua word that means ‘5 lagoons’. These are located in the mountainous part of the Huanuco region, near the Cordillera de Huayhuash where you can see foothills of the high snow-capped mountains Yarupaja, Siula and Jirishanca.
The hike is always accompanied by a professional tour guide who has a first aid kit in case a visitor needs it. The first lagoon is called ‘Pajcha’ and is located at 3,700 meters above sea level. It is famous for the high waterfall of approximately 60 meters of waterfall that feeds its waters.
In some rocks of the streams that connect the lagoons you can distinguish cave paintings. The third lagoon is located at 3,780 meters above sea level. It is called Negrococha because of its turbid waters coming from the highest snow-capped peaks of Peru. There, the group will gather in a pleasant picnic to enjoy a box lunch made with nutritious and delicious Andean ingredients.
If the visitor feels energetic enough to continue, he/she can reach the fourth lagoon located at 3900 meters above sea level. The fifth lagoon, the highest, is at 3,920 meters above sea level. This is the lagoon whose waters give life to the other four located below. At the top the visitor will be able to appreciate the best of the landscapes, the great chain of mountains and snow-capped mountains. It is a special experience in the highlands of Peru.
At a convenient time by the guide, we will descend to the base camp of Mesapata. There, the group will board the tourist transport to make the return trip to the city of Huanuco. The tour concludes with the transfer of the tourist to the main square of Huanuco at 8 pm on average.
